The project focused on the question of how a small State such as Liechtenstein can hold its own against an ever closer union of European peoples and what prospects a differentiation of the European integration process offers in the future. Before the end of the project, the Research Commissioner took up a postdoctoral position at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Instead of a monograph, this resulted in several smaller publications.
