The phenomenon of globalisation (in the sense of political, civil society and economic change processes) results in a need for political action. In order to solve the newly emerging problems, which are no longer restricted to individual territorial states, political coordination and control at international level is necessary. This is not a new situation for the Principality of Liechtenstein, which can already look back on a long tradition of intergovernmental cooperation. Within the framework of the research project, the current status of cross-border cooperation between Liechtenstein and its neighboring States Germany, Austria, and Switzerland was systematically recorded. In addition, the central legal issues as well as the effectiveness and legitimacy of this cooperation were examined.
