"We are setting out together on the road to the future with the experiences of yesterday". This guiding principle runs through the official program of the "300 Years of the Principality of Liechtenstein" anniversary. By linking yesterday with today and tomorrow, the Liechtenstein Institute is taking the opportunity for in-depth reflection on the country and its people: In a series of ten lectures, various socially relevant issues for Liechtenstein will be discussed, whereby successes and failures, continuities and breaks, pleasing and problematic developments in Liechtenstein's history and present are of equal interest.

The lectures cover a broad range of topics. The common theme is the examination of Liechtenstein's identity. The speakers will draw a differentiated picture of Liechtenstein and its history on the basis of a concrete pair of terms. They consider the present conditions as part of the historical development and thus stimulate an active debate about the past, present, and future.

The contributions will be published in revised form in 2020 in the series "Liechtenstein Politische Schriften".
